ILISA’s start dates are more flexible than ever. Regardless of your current Spanish level—from complete beginner to advanced—you can begin on any Monday of the year (please note the holiday closures listed below).

For private classes, you may have the option to start on any day of the week. Simply reach out to us via email (spanish@ilisa.com) to arrange your schedule.

Holidays 2025:

• Wednesday, January 1 – New Year’s Day
• Thursday, April 17, and Friday, April 18 – Easter Week
• Tuesday, April 15 – Battle of Rivas Day
• Thursday, May 1 – Labor Day
• Tuesday, July 25 – National Holiday: Annexation of Nicoya to Costa Rica
• Saturday, August 2 – Our Lady of the Angels Day
• Tuesday, August 15 – Mother’s Day
• Monday, December 1 – Military Abolition Day
• Thursday, December 25 – Christmas Day

Please note that classes will not be held on these holidays, and group classes missed on these days will not be rescheduled. Private classes, however, will be made up whenever possible within the same week or in the week before or after the holiday. We also reserve the right to shift our closure to another day of the week to allow for extended student “long weekends.” For more specific information regarding these dates, please feel free to contact us.

Registration Deadlines

We recommend that you register at least 4 weeks before your starting date in order for us to be able to accommodate you with the most appropriate host family and to make any other special arrangements that may be necessary. You may register with less notice and we will be happy to accommodate you on a space available basis. There is no extra fee for late registration.
