Cultural Activities Program
Immerse yourself in Costa Rican culture
Communicating in another language requires more than just grammar and vocabulary. It requires an understanding of another culture. To help you gain this knowledge, ILISA offers a variety of different cultural activities which are a rewarding addition to your Spanish program.
As a part of this program, you will have the opportunity to learn about the country, its history, and the people. We offer trips to places of interest such as museums, central market and a night at the theater. You can join as many activities as you like during your program at ILISA. Some activities start at 1:15 and some activities begin after 3:15 p.m . We plan between 1 or 2 activities each week and, best of all, all activities are free!
Activities vary from week-to-week. Among the offerings:
- City tour
- Latin dance classes
- The Historic Church of Cartago and other culturally and historically relevant sites
- Cooking classes at our open terrace cafeteria.
- Visit to Jade Museum, Gold Museum, Art Museum, Children Museum, National Museum, always guided by one of our Spanish Instructors.
- A guided visit to the historic Central Market
- Plays at the National Theater
- Movie Nights
- Fruit afternoon
- Happy Hour
- Indoors soccer matches.
- Train rides to Heredia or Cartago.
