ILISA is in one of the most suitable locations for a language school in Costa Rica. We are located in the quiet suburb of San Pedro which is close to both downtown San José and the majority of our host-families. We’re far away enough from downtown San José to enjoy the clean air, yet within a convenient 10-minute bus ride from the city center.

ILISA’s location offers students easy access to San José’s museums, shops, bars, etc. San Pedro provides a variety of activities for our students thanks to the influence of the University of Costa Rica, which lies only 5 blocks away. The University district has an abundance of cozy little bars, restaurants, and places that offer live music every night of the week. The variety of nearby places ensures there’s something for everyone to enjoy!

However, keep in mind that street names are uncommon in Costa Rica, so you likely won’t see them while navigating San Pedro to find ILISA.

As you can see, this system is quite different from those in other countries. However, once you get used to it, you’ll find it more intuitive and straightforward than it may seem. In Costa Rica, directions are based on well-known landmarks, with distances and directions from these points guiding you to your destination. To get to ILISA, simply go go 400 meters south (one block equals 100 meters) and then 125 meters east from the Outlet Mall in San Pedro.

In Panama City we have a very privileged location near Iglesia del Carmen and a subway station.

Our address in Panama is Avenida Manuel Espinosa Batista, Centrum tower, 4th floor. We are situated in front of the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
