Teens Program

This program focuses on practical, everyday Spanish, providing a strong foundation in the language. It’s ideal for teenagers traveling independently or with a friend or sibling (without a pre-formed group). ILISA provides supervision for both participants and host families, who adhere to the same guidelines they set for their own children. The program also includes cultural activities and guided excursions on a private bus to many of Costa Rica’s incredible sites and natural treasures.

Our Teens Program is currently only being offered in Costa Rica.

Program Overview:

Our teens program provides a well-rounded experience, including:

Airport Pick-Up and Drop-Off: Convenient transportation to and from the airport for a smooth arrival and departure.
Homestay Accommodation: Stay with a warm Costa Rican family, with breakfast, dinner, and weekly laundry service provided.
Program Orientation: Get familiar with our program and surroundings on the first day or even before arrival.
Spanish Classes at ILISA: Engage in immersive language learning with courses held Monday through Friday, three hours per day. Choose from:
- Spanish I (SPN 1120)
- Spanish II (SPN 1121)
- Spanish III (SPN 2200)
- Spanish IV (SPN 2201)
Social Spaces: Relax and connect with others in our designated social areas.
Farewell Dinner: The program culminates in a special farewell dinner at a typical Costa Rican restuaruant during the final week of the four weeks program.
Activities: Each week, at least three excursions will be organized, with destinations including Poás Volcano, the Central Market, the National Museum, a coffee plantation, La Paz Waterfall Gardens, and more. Classes are typically scheduled in the afternoons from 1:15 to 4:15 p.m., with excursions taking place in the mornings. Lunch is provided at ILISA Monday through Friday.

Getting There
Students are responsible for reserving and purchasing their international travel to and from San José, Costa Rica.

International Insurance
Students must arrange and purchase international insurance valid for use in Costa Rica.

Cancellation and Refund Policy
A non-refundable deposit of $400 is required. The balance may be paid upon arrival in Costa Rica.
