   Traveling to Costa Rica has become more convenient in recent years, thanks to the growing number of airlines offering increased flight options to the country

2. What are the best Airline options from the United States?
   There are several excellent travel options to Costa Rica, depending on your location and preferences. For travelers from the United States, LACSA, Costa Rica’s national airline, offers direct flights from Miami, Los Angeles, New York, and New Orleans. If you don’t live near these cities or prefer flying with a North American airline, American Airlines is a great option, offering the most flights to Costa Rica and a comprehensive domestic route network. For those in Houston or Dallas, Continental Airlines is another strong choice. United Airlines is an option if you’re near Los Angeles or Washington, DC, while Delta Airlines has recently introduced daily flights to San José from Atlanta.

   If you’re traveling from Europe, your best option is likely Iberia, which offers flights to Costa Rica from Madrid. Alternatively, British Airways also provides direct service. For those seeking more affordable rates, Condor and LTU, both based in Germany, offer direct flights from Frankfurt and Munich. Martinair, based in the Netherlands, flies to Miami, where you can connect with LACSA for the remainder of your journey.

   We generally recommend arriving on the Saturday or Sunday prior to the start of your classes. If you need to arrive a few days earlier, it’s usually no problem to arrange for you to stay with your host family for those additional days.
