Spanish for Speech Therapists, Special Educators, Psychologists, Rehabilitation Professionals, SLP´s and Audiologists
Why is it important to know Spanish as a speech-language pathologist?
As a speech-language pathologist, you help people who have problems with their speech. Spanish is one of the three most spoken languages in the world together with English and Chinese. Because of this, it is likely that you will get requests from clients that have English as a second language. Whatever your specialty might be, Spanish will help you in your career. It gives you an advantage against other colleagues who are monolingual and it will help you when dealing with clients. When learning a new language you also acquire information about the culture, and this will help with the relation you have with your Spanish speaking clients.
