  1. Is it worth the money to hire a Tour Operator?
One of the best ways to explore the many beautiful sights of Costa Rica is with a tour operator. They can highlight attractions and details that you might miss if traveling on your own. Experienced in organizing tours, they are attuned to the needs and preferences of their clients.
  2. Do I receive anything special because of my student status at ILISA?
Upon your arrival at ILISA, we will provide you with a discount card that is valid at numerous restaurants, hotels, car rental agencies, and more throughout Central America. Many tour operators in Costa Rica also offer discounts when you present your student card, which we will give you. Discounts typically range from 10% to 20%, which can be quite helpful. If one agency does not offer a discount, simply try another.
  3. Can we book tours to other parts of Costa Rica at ILISA?
Costa Rica is a beautiful country, and we want you to have the opportunity to explore it. ILISA has its own in-house travel desk and maintains strong relationships with a select group of reputable tour operators and hotels. These partners provide first-class service and offer excellent value to all of our students.
  4. What if I don’t have the money for guides?
If you prefer not to pay for a tour, the travel desk can assist you with information and help plan your travels. Our staff members have extensive travel experience and are more than happy to share their insights. We also provide listings of bus schedules, hotels, and popular destinations.
  5. What is the situation with rental cars?
We partner with an agency that offers a rate of $46 per day, which includes insurance and free mileage. The company will even deliver the car to the school, and pick it up when you’re finished!
  6. What are some of your recommendations for places to go while I am in Costa Rica?
Costa Rica is home to an abundance of stunning destinations, each offering something unique. From lush rainforests and volcanoes to pristine beaches and vibrant wildlife, there’s no shortage of beautiful places to explore. Whether you’re seeking adventure, relaxation, or cultural experiences, you’ll find something to suit your interests. Some of our top recommendations include the famous Arenal Volcano, the biodiversity-rich Monteverde Cloud Forest, and the idyllic beaches of the Pacific and Caribbean coasts.
