I am truly happy to recommend the ILISA Spanish School in San Pedro, Costa Rica. Everything about this school is designed to burst the moral of students and to help them learn Spanish easily and as quickly as possible. I am a testimony to the effectiveness of this program. I was a bit apprehensive when I started not knowing if I would be able to learn Spanish quickly and well enough to do what I do. Today, I can say with absolute certainty that I have learned Spanish, thanks to ILISA.
I am a priest working for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles in California, United States. So I know firsthand how important it is to speak Spanish “well enough” in order to minister to our teaming Latino population. In fact, in our context and in many parts of the United States, Spanish has become an imperative in the work of evangelization. And because evangelization is all about building relationships, I can tell you that being able to communicate to my parishioners and proclaim the gospel in a language that they can understand has made a huge difference in my ministry. Of course, I will continue to work to perfect my Spanish.
ILISA’s program is flexible in that it is designed to suit the student’s needs. The school meets the student where he/she is at and uses whatever amount of time the student has. This flexibility has been particularly helpful to me because of my tight schedule.
ILISA allows one to learn Spanish while vacationing, Costa Rica is a vacation and tourist heaven. It has a natural and clean environment. It is safe, the food is great, and the people are very friendly too. And guess what, it is also very cheap. It’s a place to unwind, renew your energy, learn more Spanish and head home fully prepared and energized. The Homestay Program allows the student to live with a family which provides breakfast, dinner, laundry, room service, and an opportunity for the student to practice his/her Spanish. It’s a brilliant idea! The teachers are very professional, friendly and have developed effective techniques for helping students learn fast.
So I strongly recommend ILISA Spanish School for Dioceses, Seminaries, and individual priests who are thinking of picking up Spanish. The school also has deals for individuals and groups. For more information from a student’s perspective, feel free to contact me: aloy1965@gmail.com
