Choosing a Language school is often complicated given the number of possible options. This letter offers prospective students multiple reasons for selecting ILISA.

Firstly, the location of the establishment is a major advantage. Costa Rica is a safe, wonderful and interesting country. The school is located in a quiet neighborhood in the outskirts of the capital, San Jose. Everywhere you go, you will have the chance to speak Spanish. Travelling around the country is very easy and cheap, and the weekends present a great opportunity to visit the different provinces with fellow students. And above all, “ticos” are extremely kind and friendly.

Secondly, the “Group Plus” program offered by ILISA is ideal, for it combines classic group teaching in the mornings and interactive one-on-one sessions in the afternoon. These sessions are customized daily by the teachers based on the gaps indentified in the morning.

Staff in general, from the receptionist to the teachers, is devoted to make sure that you have a rewarding experience in both Costa Rica and the school. They are available to provide information and organize trips often going the extra mile so you can make the most of your time in the country.

Perhaps the greatest feature of ILISA, after their exceptional teaching methods and staff, is their concept of host families. This is the best way to embrace the culture of the country and to practice your language skills. Families are selected to support the school spirit of helping students to progress in a comfortable environment. The homes are well equipped and the hosts are exceptionally welcoming.

I remain grateful to the people I met during my time in ILISA. After years of stagnation at school, I managed to significantly improve my Spanish without feeling that I was at school, this is because at ILISA, you learn by immersing yourself in the very unique culture of Costa Rica
